Since that time, this independent website has supplied weekly graded Sunday School lessons and handouts (and, often, coloring pages) to help Sunday School teachers worldwide. We hope to help preserve the Sunday School movement which had its glory days in the 1930's. In a time when so many churches are downsizing Sunday Schools, we aim to preserve this Christian teaching to enrich the life of children and youth worldwide.

(Making Your Life Matter)

I often wonder how King Solomon felt as he wrote the words to what we now know as Ecclesiastes chapter 3. There is such wisdom in those verses, an actual lived wisdom not just something that he was taught with spoken words. We know King Solomon for his great wisdom and riches that God gave to him. Solomon was the son of King David and Bathsheba. We know that he wrote Proverbs, Song of Solomon, and Ecclesiastes. In Ecclesiastes, we see a different Solomon. We see a man that has lived and had all that he has desired, but has seen and understood that everything under the sun is vanity. He writes that in life there is a time and season for all things. He writes in his wisdom and we know that with wisdom comes much responsibility and we are only here for a short time. Solomon probably much more than anyone else understood that only those things that we do for God are the things that really matter and are the things that will last and help others.

In Ecclesiastes 3 Solomon writes,
1. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3. A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5. A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6. A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7. A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8. A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9.What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
10. I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11. He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
There is a time for all things. When we are born and young we sometimes do not see the things that lay ahead. We do not think about dying, but the time will come. Death is sure. It knows not respect of persons or age. People die at all ages.

CURRENT LESSON PLAN - Moses: The Wandering (But Not Wasted) Years, by Lisa DeVinney
Teacher’s Notes: In our last lesson, we found Moses and the Israelites on the brink of entering the Promised Land. But when the spies came back with a report of scary giants, the people cowered in fear, and wanted to go back to Egypt. As punishment, God said none of those who refused to go in would ever step foot in the Promised Land. God would give it, instead, to their children. This week’s lesson will be looking at what happened to the Israelites during those forty years of wandering in the wilderness. They may have missed out on the blessings of living in the Promised Land, as God had wanted. But they were to use that time to learn many valuable lessons about their God, while following Him through the wilderness.

Discussion Questions and Drawing Activity :
1. How important is it for us to trust in The Word of God ?
2. A fruit tree starts off as a little seed , but if planted in a good ground
and after time and care ...what is the end result of that little seed ?
3.Can you draw 4 pictures showing the growth
of a tree -starting from a seed?
Teachers - Divide one piece of paper into 4 equal sections.
Have the children first draw nothing but the
tiny seed in the 1st picture . Talk to them
about how the seed turns into a seedling having taken
root in the good ground which should
be their 2nd picture . Have them draw in the roots .
The 3rd picture can show a big tree
with lots of brances and the 4th can show the tree with
fruit on the branches.
4. Can you understand the comparison Jesus was making in this parable
about the importance of being on good ground as opposed to trying
to grow something on a rock ?
5. Do rocks have roots ?
6. What kind of heart does someone have that is on the good ground ?
