Woman Thou Art Loosed                                                                 August 31, 2013
Teacher’s Guide

A. Be sure that everyone knows that Christ wants to make all free, both males and females alike. (2 Peter 3:9

B. Read Luke 13:10-13 Discuss what the word infirmity means.  Have you ever been bowed down by something and could not lift yourself out of it?  This woman had been in this situation for eighteen years.  I love that the Bible does not specify what her problem was.  It just says infirmity.  That word infirmity in the Greek Transliteration is Astheneia which means; want of strength; weakness, feebleness of health or sickness of the body, or the soul.  We all have weakness and Satan will use them against us every single time to try to keep us in a strong hold.

C.  Just because we are saved and in obedience to God does not mean we will never have trouble.  God does not promise us to always have good health, wealth, no problems.  (Job 14:1)

D.  We can live in victory over these things if we believe, trust, and obey God.

Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

1 Peter 3:17 “For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.”

E. The Holy Spirit is our comforter in times of trouble. (John 14:26-27)

F. We cannot just live according to this world, in our fleshly desires and still have that peace and that victory that only comes from following Christ.  You will never be more miserable than when you turn from Jesus Christ and follow after your own ways.  I know this because I have been there, and because the Bible tells us that. (James 1:15)

G.  God will give peace when we are in obedience to Him.  (Philippians 4:7)

H.  WE DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE IN BONDAGE.  There is freedom in Christ.

(Isaiah 52: 2 and 11; John 8:31-36)

I.  The Holy Spirit of God inside us gives us Empowerment to fight the devil and take back what he has stolen from us.  We are in a battle, Fight for yourselves, fight for your children, for your marriage, for your family.  You can win with Christ.
(Ephesians 6:10-18)

J.  If you are tired and weary.  If you do not know Christ as your personal Savior you can today.  He can make you free in Himself.  (Romans 10:9-13; Matthew11:28-30)
