The Journey (Lesson 3)

B. The priests are sometimes overlooked in this story but they were the very ones that had to step in the Jordan river first and bear the burden so that the others could walk across safely on dry ground. Sometimes we are called to stand in the gap so that others can come to know Christ and that they can live in their promise. You may go unrecognized to people, but God sees and He will reward those that do their work unto Him. (Joshua 3:14-17; Colossians 3:22-24)
C. We are all important members in the family of God. We all make up one body and we all can not do the same job. Every job is important. (Romans 12)
“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.” Martin Luther King Jr
D. Heroes are everyday men and women who are step out by faith and trust in God to do the work through them. If God is calling you to do the work, obey Him, because when we do not obey, others suffer as well. Think of Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad, think of the heroes during the horrible Holocaust who helped many Jewish people survive the horror around them. Think of the unknown heroes of today. We may not see, but God does and He will honor all those who trust and obey Him!
God Bless You All!
