Lesson Plan

  1. God will use us in spite of our limitations and failures when we obey and trust Him.  (Judges 6:33-40)

Discuss how Satan can try to hinder you by putting the fear of failure in your mind or the fear that you might get in God’s way.  When one is doing their best to follow the LORD and to obey HIM, even if they make a mistake or fail, God can take that mistake and turn it into something for good and for His glory.  He knows all, He knew you before the foundations of the earth!  He will do and finish the good work He has begun in you.  You and I can ALWAYS TRUST HIM!

  1. God calls us in the middle of our present obedience.  The more we are faithful the more responsibility God will give us.

So many people make the mistake of thinking that one day God will just suddenly call them to do something, and yes that happens, but most of the time, we find God’s will for our lives gradually while we are being obedient to little things.  God first called Gideon to tear down the idols of his father, then little by little as Gideon obeyed the Lord, he was given more responsibility.  Remember David.  It was thirteen years after he was anointed king that he actually was crowned king.  He spent those years in obedience to God in training!  Remember Joseph?  It was thirteen years from the time he was sold into slavery to Egypt until God made him second in command over all the land.  He remained faithful and obedient all those years…in training!  God knows what He is doing…trust Him. :o)

  1. God expands and uses the abilities He has already built into us. (Remember before you even existed, He had a plan for you and designed you according to that plan!)  (Judges 7:1-18)

Gideon asked the Lord when He first appeared to him, Why have you chosen me?  I am in the least clan of all of Israel and I am the least one in my family!  The angel said to him, The LORD is with you mighty man of valor!  Gideon was focused on what he was then, God was focused on what He could mold and make of Gideon.  God called Gideon what he was before he had even accomplished it!  That blesses my heart so much!  Gideon was trembling with fear and questioning why he was chosen, and God was calling him a MIGHY MAN OF VALOR or MIGHTY WARRIOR!

God sees not what we are, but what He can mold us to be.  He understood Gideon’s fear and He understands our fear.  When we purpose in our hearts that we are going to serve the LORD and obey even when we are afraid, He will give us courage to move forward so that He can accomplish the task.  All we must do is ask and trust Him.  God is looking for sons and daughters who will obey Him.  To obey is to trust.  We are serving a Father who loves us and who will move heaven and earth to help us succeed!  Praise His holy name!  HE WILL NOT FAIL!  (Judges 7:18-23)

Give Praise To God In All Things!  Praise The LORD!!!
