Statement of Mission
by
Kathy Hartwell
The mission of World Sunday School is to
publish Christian literature and resources worldwide without regard to
nation or denomination. We hold fast to the fundamental Christian beliefs
(Apostles’ Creed) (listed below) that unite the Christian family. “Of a
truth I (Peter) perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every
nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with
him.” Acts 10: 34b-35
Our organization realizes that many
believers around the world are denied Sunday school texts and supplies. It
is with this knowledge that we will do our utmost to bring the Word of God
to Christ’s Sunday school whether it is secretly assembled, inadequately
funded, inefficiently illiterate, or even relatively established.
We adhere to the understanding that
Christians need an honest business where the staff sincerely carries out the
Great Commission of Jesus Christ: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you .
. .” Matthew 28: 19-20
World Sunday School will channel
encouragement, knowledge, hope, faith, and love through available Christian
literature.
We are an organization that desires to
build up the Christian community as one in Christ.
“There is one body, and one Spirit, even
as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one
baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and
in you all.” Ephesians 4: 4-6
World Sunday School follows these fundamental Christian
beliefs:
- There is one God who
- Exists beyond all time and space
- Created the universe
- Cares about every human being
- Jesus
- Is the son of God
- Lived on earth as a man
- Died on the Cross for our sake
- By his death, paid the price of all
our sins
- Rose from the dead
- Allows us to be put right with God
- Lives today as our friend
- Is the head of the Church
- The Holy Spirit
- Is the power by which God works
- Is available to guide and help us
- Not as a reward for good works, but
as a free gift from God
- The Bible
- Was divinely inspired
- Shows, by examples, how to manage
our lives and treat each another
- Is as relevant today as when it was
written
Apostle's Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the
Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God
from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through Him
all things were made. For us men and for our salvation He came down from
heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit He became incarnate of the Virgin
Mary, and was made man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered death and was buried.
On the third day He rose again in accordance with the
Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the
Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and
his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of
Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son
He is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We
acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the
resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
