Opening Prayer : Join together in prayer to our
Heavenly Father asking
Him to bless our hearts and minds
in our Sunday School class today.
Opening Hymn:
A MIGHTY FORTRESS IS OUR GOD
A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing;
Our helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing:
For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great, and, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.
Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing;
Were not the right Man on our side, the Man of God’s own choosing:
Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He;
Lord Sabaoth, His Name, from age to age the same,
And He must win the battle.
Opening Discussion : Talk with the children about the meaning of the words
shelter and refuge . Ask them to define the words - if they are unsure -tell
them .

Sheltered From The Storm
Though waves rise up to display their show,
We are sheltered from the storm .
When rocked and tossed
We’re never lost.
Safe on Christ’s Ark
Riding above
Taken out
Of torment’s wake.
Though waves rise up to display their show,
We are sheltered from the storm.
Julie Pisacane ©
And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master,
master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked
the wind and the raging of the water:
and they ceased, and there was a calm.
Luke 8:24
Close with prayer thanking the Lord for the shelter and refuge we
always have in Jesus Christ , our Saviour.
