Opening Prayer: Start with a prayer to God asking Him to help
us daily to love one another as He purposed. We need His guidance
to shine the light of Christ into the lives of others in need.
Memory Verse for Today
Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this;
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Today's Suggested Bible Reading
Luke 10:25-37
25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. 29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? 30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him.
Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

In A Time Of Need
It is always such a time
As we press on in a world of crime…
All are living in a time of need.
How the strong in Spirit need to labor-
For the rest of the world
Is presently our neighbor.
Millions are in need of care.
We can all pitch in
To do our share.
Time spent in prayer can surely send
Help from above
For a needy friend.
Straightaway, these are the days
In reaching out to all others,
Loving them as our sisters and brothers.
All are living in a time of need.

Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God
with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:
this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these.

Recommended Activity For The Week
Ask each child to be more prayerful , loving and helpful towards someone they know in their lives. It can be anyone they choose. Ask them to pray daily for that person they have in mind. Maybe their mother or a relative can use a little extra help with chores , or maybe there is a neighbor or a friend who needs cheering up. They can draw a picture or make a card and give it to someone of their choosing. They can write a letter or help a teacher clean up a school room or tidy up their own home. The children's work will be appreciated so much by the one they help and most importantly will be seen by the eyes of Lord Jesus who smiles upon them.
Closing prayer : Ask our Heavenly Father to open up our hearts to be as the good Samaritan this week and as often as possible throughout our lives. May Lord Jesus help us to take the opportunity to serve God as we make the effort to serve another who is placed upon each individual heart. May the abundant love of Christ flow from out of our hearts and into the lives of others. May the neighbor learn that it is Christ who is the power and love guiding
our faith into action.
Amen.
