In A Manger
Opening Prayer : Ask our Heavenly Father for His wisdom in guiding us through His Word as we learn about our Savior, Jesus Christ who was born in a manger.
Memory Verse : And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you
good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. - Luke 2:10
Hymntime :
AWAY IN A MANGER
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes;
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.
Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray;
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
And fit us for Heaven to live with Thee there.

Luke 2:1-10
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree
from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth,
into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem;
(because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished
that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds
abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the
glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you
good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Knowing
What was it like to be Mary
that the Lord blessed to carry
His very own Son without sin
and then told no room at the Inn....
She knew of her treasure
and rejoiced in the pleasure
of knowing that some day
He would guide our way ...
To rich fields of green
where all is serene
and doves fly high
and blanket the sky.
Mary knew the reason
of a new blessed season.
Listen for His gentle call
that is purposed to go out to all.
Mary knows The Prince of Peace,
The Holy Spirit will never cease.
Mary loved a sweet blessed boy
who fills our hearts forever with joy.
