The Shadow of His Wings

I stand in the shadow of your wings
Resting from my walk in the light
The struggle of living in the world
Fighting the battle all Christians must fight
Has made me so weary, Lord
This attack has lasted so long
Victory is but a dream
That I dream all alone
Most of the time, the light is good
Its warmth energizes my soul
But now I've gone as long as I can go
The cool darkness of the shade
Beneath God's mighty wings
Is what my battle weary soul desperately needs
For I'm so tired, Lord For a time, shield me from the world
Let me rest...
Let my wounds mend...
Then I will rejoin the battle, once again
" ...Therefore in the shadow of your wings
I will rejoice"
