What a Friend

Junior Level

Our Sunday school topic for today focuses on friendship. We are talking about how important our friends are to us, and our mother and father. Then we realize that Jesus is our friend too. Remember the song - "What a Friend we Have in Jesus!"

Handout: What a Friend

  1. Ask students if they have a best friend.
  2. Ask how you can tell if a person is a "real" friend.
  3. How do you feel when you are away from your friend for a few days?
  4. Is a mother or father a friend, or is that something different?
  5. In addition to your friend and mother and father, did you know you have another friend? Who might that be?
  6. His name is Jesus and you could have not better friend. If you don't have Him as your friend then I would urge you to make friends with Him. You won't be disappointed.
  7. Call on your friend Jesus, in prayer, and you will feel great comfort.
  8. Prayer
