Angels Are Watching over You

Angels

Lesson Plan

Job 38:4-7 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. 5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? 6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; 7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Can you remember the times when you could not contain yourself for the joy in you and you had to break forth into singing? Whether you vocalized the words and melody; simply hummed or whether your soul just got so full of joy your spirit sang out to God in silent praise in a harmonious melding of your spirit with the Spirit of God. Wonderful times weren't they?

In the passage above there was a time when the heavenly creation of God could not contain itself. As they witnessed the power of God displayed in the creation and the marvelous work of love that God was bringing about they burst forth into singing, shouting and praising of God. We can surmise on how many times they broke forth but I imagine each time God brought forth something new they would lift their voices as their joy knew no bounds. In my mind I see the crowning moment with the creation of man in the image of their maker as bringing forth the greatest joy.

If you were to go through the Bible you would find several instances where God's creation has "bubbled over" to the extent that spontaneous singing and praising was the result. Each time God and His work was the cause of this singing.

When in the book of Ezra the foundation of the House of the Lord was laid to rebuild what had been destroyed there was this same singing and rejoicing. Ezra 3:11-13 And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid. 12 But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy: 13 So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.

Do you notice the joy of something being restored? Those who knew what had been lost and given up rejoiced the greatest when they saw the beginning of the restoration of the house of God. Could it be one of the reasons for the great joy of the angels was because they knew the work of God in the creation was the beginning of the restoration of what had been lost when Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12) fell and took a third of the angels with him? (Rev. 9:15)

Do you have a time in your life when God, through Jesus our Lord, restored you from your fallen condition? If you have then you know of the joy and rejoicing that came forth from you to God in worship, praise and singing of the soul. Not only that but the angels rejoiced with you (Luke 15:10) when you were restored and you became the temple of the Holy Ghost (Cor. 6:19).

Rejoicing is something that comes spontaneously and naturally as a result of something that affects you deeply in a wonderful way. As we are in these dark days where it seems all the news is of corruption, evil, wars, disasters and the rejection of God by so many we can take heart in a soon coming time when our hearts will truly break forth in to singing. God is going to restore His wonderful creation and we are part of that plan of restoration. Isaiah speaks of that time and it is a time of great joy; unspeakable and full of glory!

Isaiah 14:7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing. Isaiah 44:23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel. Isaiah 49:13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

All of God's creation will sing in that wonderful day and the heavens will join us in lifting their voices to God in praise and worship: Revelation 5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands.

There is coming a day,
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

There'll be no sorrow there,
No more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain,
No more parting over there;
And forever I will be,
With the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be
