Opening Prayer : Start with a prayer to God asking Him to help
us learn this day about how we are do the right thing with
the time He has given us .
Memory Verse
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should
walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
___________________________________________________________
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due,
when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again,
and tomorrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
Proverbs 3:27-28
For Teachers :
Read the above passage twice and
let the children know there will be follow up questions
after the reading.
_____________________________________________________________
Follow Up Questions :
1. What are some of your favorite things you like to do during the day ?
2. Is there ever a time you put something off - maybe a chore that was
asked of you to do by a parent , teacher or relative ?
3. What message is told in the above Bible verses
about delaying the task or deed of doing good
for a neighbor or for another person that asks of you ?
4. When does God expect us to act when someone needs our help with something ?
It is a blessing to be able to do for others because as we do for others we are at the same time doing for the Lord. We don't want to wait in doing good for another person that asks . We have today , the present time to help
each other out and this is the will of God - to be prepared and to act when called upon to help another person out . This is how we show
our love for God. You may remember an important lesson we went over
a few weeks ago regarding the Good Samaritan lesson ? Two out of three people walked by someone in need .
One person not only acted to help the injured person
but acted immediately. He moved with
compassion and helped another person as much as he could.
Jesus taught us how we are to move with the same
compassion and with His help we can all do this .
Suggested Lesson Activity :
Time for a skit .
Re-read the Good Samaritan Parable ( Luke 10:25-37) and have the children act it out with someone being the injured person , two people that just walk on by - far away from the injured person , the Samaritan that helps out and the innkeeper who takes the injured person in .

Today's Devotional Poem :
What Time Is It?
What time is it?
Time to lend a helping hand
To those in need throughout the land.
What time is it?
It is time to do our part
Obeying God from our heart.
What time is it?
It is time to love and forgive
To rejoice and to live.
What time is it?
It is a time of healing
And of truth revealing.
What time is it?
It is time to draw near
To God-
Without fear.
What time is it?
Time to learn that
The first shall be last
and how the mercies of God
Eternally last.
What time is it?
A question asked everyday--
God's children will
tell you that ...
It's time to be humble
and to earnestly pray.

Suggested Closing prayer :
Heavenly Father , help us realize that we are to act promptly
when we learn of the needs
of others. Help us to move with compassion ,
just as Jesus often taught us to.
Guide us this week dear Lord and help us to
be as instruments in your Hand so that we
can help others in a way that pleases You .
Thank you Jesus for being our perfect example.
Thank you Jesus for your compassion and help
that you have given us .
Amen .
