Tears tears
Primary Grade Level Lesson
For Sunday School

Beginning Prayer

Start with a prayer of thanks for this study time as we  ask our Lord of LIfe to open up our hearts, minds
and ears for understanding more of His Word .

Lesson Discussion  and  Questions for Today:

1 -Let the Sunday School teacher  share with the children certain times when they have cried. Maybe it was when someone they know got very ill - or maybe they themselves got hurt and suffered a painful injury.Maybe you did or said something wrong to somebody and you felt bad enough over it to cry .

Some people cry from reading  a sad book. There are many reasons we cry and everyone cries.

2 -  Ask the children if they have every cried ?

3- What has made them cry ?

Let them take turns sharing the times when they have cried.

We read in the Bible of times when Jesus has cried  and Jesus also comforted his friends when they were scared or when they cried.

God made us in such a way that releasing tears can help

us to ease the pain .  It is OK to cry . They should know this and

they should never feel bad about shedding a few tears now and then .

God made a promise to all those who believe

in His Son - Jesus Christ because God wants us all to be happy

and there will come a time where He will dry all our tears.

Our God is an awesome God and a God of all spiritual

promises kept.

We can fully trust the promises of God.

Memory Verse for Today

Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears
from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away.

Today's Devotional Poem

A Little Tear

A little tear
Falls down my face
When I see
Great suffering
Amidst our human race.

A little tear
Runs down my cheek
As I kneel and pray
For the hungry and weak.

A little tear
Escapes from my eye
As I mourn for
The lonely who
Are scared to die.

A little tear
Begins to tell
Of the grief and pain
We know so well.

A little tear
Calls to Heaven above
And is answered by
Our Lord of Love.

The Day will come
Where we won't cry
For our Lord will
Wipe our tears dry.

Place a little drop of water on each child's face before they leave
today and remind them what it says in the Bible in Revelation
21:4.  And God shall wipe away all tears

 Closing Prayer :

Let us thank our Heavenly Father for all the plans He has for us and for being with us always.  Let us thank Him for being able to learn from Jesus about tears He had cried and for the times He comforted His friends while walking on this earth .

Let us  always trust and remain secure in the promises of God.

Amen.
