Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Warm Up With A Game:
Match Game Materials:  2 boxes of crayons

Hold up a green crayon and a white crayon in front of the children.
Ask them if they are the same or different

Hold up two yellow crayons - ask the children are they the same
or different?
Do this a few more times.

Then start today's Bible reading.

1 Cor. 1:10-17
 10Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

11For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

14I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;

15Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

16And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect

Follow Up Questions:

Read verse twice and then ask children - which word is missing.

1.  Fill in the blank :  Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the __________thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the ________mind and in the ___________judgment.

2.  Do you sometimes disagree with another?   Talk about it.

3.  Should there be disagreement when it comes to our faith in Jesus?

4.  Read the following to the children:

2 Corinthians 13:11Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Paul teaches - Be of one mind and to live in peace.

5.Read the following and have the children count how many times one is mentioned.

Ephesians Chapter 4
   4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5One Lord, one faith, one baptism,6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

6. Those who are of the same faith should not be found quarreling.  We are children of God. We have so many reasons to be thankful and joyful. Don't let anything or anyone get in the way of that.

7. What have you learned from the Bible today? Talk about it.
