The Sound of His Voice

Midnight approaches
And yet, I cannot sleep
Dear Lord, I pray
For once, speak to me

Others seem to hear you
Your voice for them loud and clear
Why, when I concentrate my heart and mind
Why then, can I not hear?
I long to live my life
By your will and not my own
But how can I walk your chosen path
If to me, it is unknown?
Speak to me Lord
For I fall to my knees
I cannot continue my journey
Without your wisdom to guide me

Please Lord, speak to me
How I need the sound of your voice
For the children that now follow me
Are also bound by my choice
