Chapter 10 - Relying on the Lord

meditation========

(by a jenny wren)

The Time for totally relying upon the lord,
to feed, clothe, heal, watch over,
always seeing to the true needs
of a traveling band of wayfarers,
the children of the Hebrew Nation,
that had suffered for so very long,
as slaves at the hands and commands,
of the Egyptian Nation.
Soon came the realization,
to the traveling Children of God,
“We have used; all of our excess supplies.!
WHAT ARE WE TO DO ---Moses?”
(This is not a good thing,) soon There will be thousands
Of people, who shall be hungry How can I as one man provide for this many?, for them who now travel
They are in their wilderness days, at this time.
The barrels are slowly becoming empty,
Their Supplies have dwindled to almost nothing.

they had brought more than enough,
with each family, but soon the pickings to eat, were slim,
they had borrowed flour and grain from each other,
until there was none left in the camp.
now their bellies growled (as did the people,)
The People mostly growled at God,
as hunger pangs slowly set in upon them.
Moses had to take all of the consequences,
he was the one
who had brought them to this awful place,
they were indeed free,
but their bellies were held captive to hunger,
They wanted Freedom from their slavery,
They had prayed for freedom,
for so very long and for many generations,
But, Not this ‘freedom to starve to death.’
they did not like; this type of freedom.

They reminisce, as they dream of
their cloves, spices, onions
and garlic.

In the morning, there was a layer of dew, around the
camp. When the dew had dried up, for the day,
thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared,
on the desert floor.
When the Israelites saw it,
they looked at it in wonder,
they question each other,
"What is it?"
For they did not know what it was.
What we are looking at here is,
a hungry bunch of people.
It is a pitiful sight,
So it is a hungry and thirsty bunch
that confronts Moses
"Do something!" they cry......

Moses was soon to his knees in prayer,
just a little while. He is now pleading their case.
Moses talks into God's ear, telling Him of their plight.
The Heavenly Father, of course had already known about it,
God already knew this happen,
He had anticipated it to happen,
so that morning God kind of scolded
as He spoke to all of them,

"Go. gather your food,
I have sent it to you from heaven,
it is there for you, I will feed you,
just as I feed my other creations,
(but I do not place it in their mouths,
neither will I place it in yours.”

“Remember;
Only take enough for each one of you,
take only enough to supply each day's meals
"Manna from Heaven, they loved the taste,
they were all
satisfied and praising God,
who always hears and answers their
(and Moses) prayers,
sooner or later.
He is just and faithful.”

They remember how pure water
had come gushing from the solid rock,
that their Lord had provided, just for them,
He has completely satisfied their real thirst,
Now they had each come together each had helped,
had built the tabernacle, with all of the furniture for in,
for their having plenty,
for the giving of sacrifice to the Lord daily,
they remember how: the cloud still is hanging overhead
keeping them cool, from the hot sun,
in the daytime, also they remember,
when they had traveled by night
the night sky was like the daytime,
as they traveled because of fire in the sky
That lit their way,
why it even served to make
the atmosphere warmer on them
in the cool desert night.

The very hot days of the desert trek
Was at times, unbearable,
this trip will last for forty years,
(until finally the last of this generation dies.
It is only after the new generation
had grown big and older enough,
to truly follow God.)

The Tabernacle is now set up, at each rest spot and especially
on the Sabbath, each of them had remembered;
to keep it HOLY.

There is truly a miraculous happening
going on at this time, not one piece of their clothes,
or shoes ever wear out,
for the whole forty years of wear,
(is still spoken of, to this day.)
How the Lord always makes provisions for his own.
The people of Israel called the bread manna.
meaning bread from Heaven,
It was white like coriander seed,
tasting like wafers made with honey..

Moses said, "This is what the LORD has commanded:
'Take an omer of manna and you keep it for the generations
to come, so they can ‘see’ the bread that I gave for them, to eat
in the desert,
when I brought you out of Egypt. bondage'. "
So Moses then said to Aaron,
"Take a jar and put an omer of
manna in it.
Then place it before the Lord, to be kept
for the generations to come." This is doing,
As the Lord has commanded Moses to do.

Remember, God has humbled you,
causing you to hunger, feeding you with manna,
which neither you nor your fathers
had known before,
to teach you that man does not live on bread alone,
but to have true and real life we are to live by;
every word that comes,
from the mouth of our Lord.

Aaron put the manna, in front of the Testimony,
that it might be kept.
Yes, They eat manna for forty years,
(until they never ever wanted any more,)

They now grow in spirit you know that:
to let food be as fuel for up keeping of your body,
Alive, and well,
they had eaten, daily, this is proving the fact that,
this can be done. Now the Lord is aggravated at them again,
they were always complaining, of no meat to eat.
seems that they never do learn, to not complain.
God said " Yes, you ‘shall’ have meat,"

He caused the winds to shift,
look now!, there are thousands of quail
They had been thrown off course ,in their flight
‘Kerplop’
The quails, almost land at their feet,
Falling from the sky
The children were so tickled, “Meat!, at last”
they are laughing as they are now gladly
gathering all that their arms would hold..
Others members of the clan, \
clean and yet other start the fires up again to
cook them 'still the quails come in huge droves,'
the children of God gather and eat the quail. No
one gathered less than ten homers. Then they
spread them out all around the camp.

(That is, probably about 60 bushels, about 2.2 kiloliters)
when they had eaten, so much meat,
It actually made many sick.
Many of them, in an unexpected agony die,
from too much meat to eat.
After their stomachs had been conditioned
to the manna for most of their lives.
with yet, another lesson learned.
finally the journey ends;
There before them,
the Gordon River is in sight,
they stand on the bank of the river,
Crying as they Look across,
Their dream of so very long ago, come true.
Their long awaited Home is now finally starting
to come to pass. There before them in all
of its glory stands, the promised land of old,
their Journey Home, over at last.

They came to a land that was settled;
they had, daily eaten manna until they reached the border
of Canaan.
Moses speaks,
“God humbles you, causing
you to hunger, then feeding you with manna,
which neither you nor your fathers had known.
To teach you that man does not live by bread alone,
but He lives by every word,
that comes from the mouth of God.
==========================================
He who has an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit says to the churches.
To him who overcomes,
I will give some of the hidden manna.
(Jesus, is the hidden bread of Heaven)

I will also give him a white stone,
with a new name written upon it,
(known only to the one, who receives it.)
