It is mandatory to grow older in this life, but it is not mandatory to grow up in this life or our Christian life and some are retarded in their growth because of just being sustained on milk just as in real life.

If a baby is just subjected to milk all of the time it will develop in a retarded state, because of the inability to digest the meat properly. Meat is needed for strength, in our lives both physical and spiritual. ..the meat of the Word is not Pablum, it is meat and sometimes very hard to digest in the child of God ,and some just cannot ever take it in, there fore never developing into their highest potential of faith in their God. This is because of their inability to digest, or keep and understand, what they learn of our Lord.

They lack trust in their faith in God. Faith has to be fed and exercised properly for it to grow properly.
just as our own growing children. Once again a person can see the image of the real thing, even in this situation - even in their growing up in the Lord.
