Healthy Spirit
This is part of letter I wrote to my nephew Jacob as The LORD instructed me; I wanted to share it with you all today. I pray you will be encouraged and uplifted. GOD Bless you all.
Handout: Healthy Spirit
Yesterday morning as I was praying for my nephew who is battling Leukemia right now, The LORD brought a thought to my mind about being sick in general. HE said that there are many people whose bodies are very sick in this world, some of them have cancer, some have other illnesses and then there are people who are physically very healthy, some of them never really been sick a day in their lives, but a person whether physically sick or healthy right now, what really is the most important is the real person, the soul and spirit of a person.
There are some dear one’s in the world now who are physically unwell, but spiritually they are talking to The LORD JESUS, they are praying and seeking HIS face... physically they are weak but spiritually they are growing everyday, but there are people out there who are physically well and their real person, their soul is dying quickly because they do not know The LORD, or they simply have refused to have a relationship with HIM, either because they are too busy, or they are blind and don't think they need HIM, or HE is an occasional thought. See many people are blinded by satan and all they really are concerned about is their body, what size it is, what it is wearing, or how pretty they can make it, how young they can make it look...and those things are not necessarily wrong, it's good to take pride in our appearance as long as we are not obsessed, but the sad thing is some people spend all that time worrying about the physical body and never think about their real selves, which is their spirit. The truth is, this body, it's only the vehicle that is driving our real selves to eternity, and at the end of this journey we call life on earth, no one physically gets out alive and this body that we spend so much time trying to make wonderful, it just goes back to the dust where it came from, and the real person lives on either in Heaven or hell...We would all be so much wiser to work on being Spiritually healthy and spiritually beautiful to The LORD, because that part of us is what will last forever. What about it today? Do you have a healthy spirit?
Matthew 10:28 “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
You who are fighting a physical, life threatening illness, such as cancer, I don't know exactly how you feel because I haven't had a physical illness that has threatened my life but there was a time when I was in pain everyday for years. I was bed fast for a year, and I lost my job because of it and I couldn't do anything for myself, it was hard, very hard, and I understand how it is to see everyone going on about life and doing the things you used to do but you can't now, I know how upsetting that is and how hard that is, sometimes it makes you feel like life is passing you by, but GOD taught me that what was most important was my spiritual health and it was in the time of everyday pain that The LORD came so near to me, even on the times when I couldn't feel HIM, I see now that HE had me cradled up like a baby and holding me and HE nourished my spirit through HIS word and through prayer and my body was in terrible pain and couldn't get up, but my spirit soared and when HE finally healed me where I could get up again, I realized that time of pain was one of the greatest gifts HE ever gave me because it was in that dark time, that I got to know HIM and HE became so much more to me...and through my physical sickness, HE healed my spirit.
For all of you suffering right now, I pray for your healing, but also I pray in the process that everyday your spirit grows more and more and that you soar and one day you will fly above all this hardship and it will just be a memory. It won't last forever. Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5)
The LORD is near to you. You are cradled in His hands even if sometimes it doesn't feel like it. Keep taking this time, to grow more spiritually, day by day. I am trying to do the same. Your physical illness won’t be in vain. Let it be the tool that brings you closer to The LORD in prayer, a tool to grow in your faith. See it doesn't matter how long it's been since we have given our hearts to The LORD, we can still grow...every child of GOD...even one that has been saved for 100 years.
Psalm 34:18 “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; HE rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart does good like a medicine: but a broken spirit dries the bones.”
Philippians 4:11 “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in what ever state I am in, therewith to be content.”
Hebrews 13:5 “Let your conversation be without covetousness and be content with such things as ye have: for HE has said, I will never leave you, or forsake you.”
Dear Righteous, Heavenly Father…
I come before You today, in thankfulness of who You are! You are good, You are faithful, You are Holy and there is none like YOU! Today I ask that You let those who are sick and in pain, those who are suffering in mind and spirit, I ask that You let them feel Your sweet, healing, Holy Spirit. Help them to grow in faith through this difficult time and to know that You are still GOD! Strengthen Your children and help us to grow in faith and give us more wisdom. Nourish our spirits and help us to come to the place that You would have us be. Help us be more like You Dear JESUS. You are all, You are peace, You are joy and we praise You today because You are worthy. Thank You for meeting our need, for providing for us. Thank You for loving us and being our Savior. We will ever praise You and thank You for hearing and answering our prayers. It’s in Your name Jesus that we pray and ask these things. Amen.
