A Confident Woman of God
Junior Level

A confident woman of God knows her place in the family of the LORD, she does not try to be a man, she does not try to tear down a man! She is woman; she is created to be strong of heart and to train up warriors and princes for God's kingdom. She will take care of her family and when the enemy comes near; she will strike by the power of the Holy Spirit and take him out with whatever God has placed in her hands!  I hope that you enjoy this study whether you are a man or a woman.  If you happen to be a man reading, I encourage you to keep reading so that you can teach your wife, your daughters, sisters, and other Christian women in your life about being a confident woman of God.

Handout:  A Confident Woman of God

For years, in the United States and in many other parts of the world, feminist groups have told women a lie.  Not all groups but many.  For years women have been taught that in order to “get ahead” we must stomp on the men, tear them down.  We have been taught that in order to “get ahead” we must BE A MAN!  This is just not true!  Women were created lovingly by God to be just that…A Woman!

When God created woman, He created her to be partners with her husband.  He did not create her “less than.”  She was not created to be stepped on, or looked down upon.  She was just as important to God as man was.

Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:  and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.  And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.  And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.  And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”

God created male and female and gave them BOTH dominion over the rest of His creation.  They were co-rulers.  Why did God created a woman?  In Chapter 2 of Genesis we see that God created man first, and then it goes into detail about why He created woman.

Genesis 2:18 “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”

That scripture alone should make every woman ever born feel VERY special!  It was not good that man should be alone…so God formed this beautiful creation to be companion, friend, and partner to man and she was called woman.

So God created them to be Co-rulers of the earth, but sin poked its ugly head in and Adam and Eve disobeyed God and they at of the fruit they were not supposed to.  As a result, this was the punishment of the woman.

Genesis 3:16 “Unto the woman He said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”

Does that mean that a man has the right to be a dictator over his wife and to push her down and degrade her…? NO!

Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it;

Colossians 3:19 “Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.”

Galatians 3:13-14 “ Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
When Jesus died on the cross the curse of sin was lifted.  Does that mean that a woman should not be under submission to her husband now?  No!

1 Corinthians 11:3 “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.”

That does not mean that the woman is less than or less important, it means that she has a different role.  We all submit to God.  Husbands and wives submit one to another in a way that is equal.  It is mutual respect and understanding what role God has placed us in and moving into that role.
1 Corinthians 7:3-4 “ 3Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. 4The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
Man and Woman are a team.  The Apostle Paul taught this very same thing.  In 1 Corinthians 11 Pauls taught that In the Lord, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.  For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.

Proverbs 31:10 “Who can find a virtuous woman?  For her price is far above rubies.”

In other words, it is saying that a woman of righteousness, a woman with good morals, an honest woman…she is a treasure.  Her worth is priceless.  This is where our strength lies Dear Beloved woman of God.  We were not created to be as physically strong as man, but we were created to be strong of heart.  In our weakness, God strength is perfected!  Let’s read on in Proverbs to see about the strong, confident woman of God.
Proverbs 31:11-31  “11The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.12She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
Wow…She will be of such noble character and integrity that the heart of her big, strong man will trust in her with his whole heart.  Does that sound like what the feminist movement has been saying…NO!
13She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.  22She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. 23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.  25Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.  26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.  27She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. 28Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. 29Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.30Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
The devil wants women to believe that they have to try to crush men to make a name for themselves.  He wants us to believe that we have to act like men and be in competition with men or that we are less than.  This is simply a lie.  In these verses alone, it shows the power and strength of heart that God has placed in women.  Men and women should not be in competition, we are a team.  We each have an important role and one is not more important than the other.

It takes a strong, and confident woman of heart to submit to her husband.  To understand that submitting to him is not humiliating her, but it is an honor to her.  1 Corinthians 11 says that woman is the glory of man.  That word glory in the Greek Transliteration is Doxa.  It means: Splendor, brightness.  Woman is the magnificence, excellence, dignity, and grace of her man.

Dear Woman of God, place your confidence in God, not in yourself.  When you do this, you can stand strong and you can be the woman that God has called You to be.  God will NEVER help you be a man.  He will never help you tear down a man.  However, He will help you to be the best woman that you can be, the way He created you to be.  He can help you rise above a man if he is tearing you down.  Keep your confidence in Christ.

You do not have to show your body for attention.  You do not have to give yourself in sin for love.  You do not have to have a bad attitude to get noticed.  There is a popular thing called “mean girls” in the United States.  These are girls who have bad attitudes, they are loud, brash and show off their bodies for attention.  They are girls who will try to get attention from a man that is married, and girls who try to tear other girls down.  The devil LOVES a mean girl.  Rise above this.  We are created to be lovely daughters of the King.  A confident woman of God loves other women.  We will try to be a sister, mother, friend to other women, not try to tear them down.  Speak with excellent speech.  Be kind to everyone.  Show the light of God that He has placed inside you.  Wake up every morning and ask the Holy Spirit to shine through you so that when others look at you, they see Him.  This is the best beauty secret that really works!  You will glow!

Save yourself and cover yourselves up for your own husband.  He will trust in you with all of his heart if you prove yourself trustworthy.  Rise above and live with excellence and integrity!  Live skillfully in the beauty, grace, and honor that God created you for.  YOU ARE WOMAN and YOU ARE LOVED  DEAR DAUGHTER OF THE MOST HIGH!  I love you all!   God bless you :O)

Dear Righteous, Heavenly Father…

Thank You so much for being You!  Father thank You for hearing and answering the prayers of Your servants.  Father thank You for allowing us to be Your children.  Father I pray today for every woman that is daughter to You that we can live lives of grace and glory and honor to our husbands, our families and most of all to You.  Father help us to rise above the pressure to be like the world.  Help us to separate ourselves from sin and to shine with Your love and Your good news.  Father today I also pray for the woman who does not know you.  I ask You to send Your Holy Spirit and convict her heart so much that He will turn to You and become a daughter.  Help us to love one another and help one another so that Your name will be glorified.  Help us to live in the role that You have created for us because it is best.  Thank You for loving us and for the things You do for us everyday, even the things we don’t see or realize.  We love You Dearest Father.  In the lovely name of Wonderful, Almighty JESUS we pray…Amen.
